What Gods Have Created

Superstition has negatively impacted humans by fostering conflict, discrimination, and resistance to progress. As Stevie Wonder wrote, “When you believe in things that you don't understand, Then you suffer.”

Art sculpture featuring a globe surrounded by golden bronze humanoid figures on a decorated base with newspaper clippings containing words like "Bombs" and "Disasters."

The base is made from a wooden mold. I decoupaged words from a newspaper, that I felt spoke to our current conditions. A star field covers the top. Inside the mold is a layer of ball bearings, and a small ceramic bowl by potter Tom Gray holds the planet, wrapped in scraps from a 1947 Rand McNally atlas. The Moai inspired structures are wooden dowls from a children’s game. 7Hx6Wx5.5D
